So sorry @zoea4057 - there must be a better opportunity awaiting you…fingers crossed for you.

SAME. HAHA I’m dying fr @the.quinjet
1400 accepted and 18,000 applied? Those numbers seem wrong. 1400 accepted and 1800 applied seems more correct. US News Ranking page says 69% Early Acceptance rate for last year. 1400 out of 1800 this year would be 77% - whereas 1400/18000 would be 7%. No way LMU has a 7% acceptance rate.
I might be wrong. I’ll look on the thread. Someone else posted i.
yeah. the letter does state 18000 but my guess is that they accepted 40% but they only expect 1400 slots to be filled by those that accept admission. i saw something similar on older pepperdine posts.
it says on the letter than this year over 18,000 are applying for 1400 spots in freshman class. im sure they mean both ed, ea, and regular decision, and they accept more than 1400 because not everyone who is accepted will attend
@val11 posted earlier on the thread that “ Her D got accepted to the Screenwriting Program. The letter said that there were 1400 spots for freshman and over 18,000 applied.” @SoCalPops
or maybe 69% accepted but only 1400 people will ll choose lmu
Remember acceptance rate is how many applicants are accepted vs. how many will attend.
Last year’s 52.5% is %of the 15,381 applicants that were accepted…not the 9.4% of applicants that actually enrolled.
Even that sounds off - 18,000 applicants would be more than double how many applied last year.
Edit: No, I’m just stupid - about 7,000 were admitted, but around 13,500 applied - so its possible, but still a very large increase in the number of applicants from one year to another.
