LMU Early Action 2019-2020

I was accepted for Film and TV production!

Congrats @gabbbayyy

Accepted in the Business Administration for Marketing! 34 ACT superscore 33 composite ; 4.292 GPA Weighted 3.9 Unweighted

1400 of 18000 would be a 7% acceptance rate. For reference UCLA is 17% acceptance rate and Stanford is 5%. Sorry, but there is definitely a typo somewhere here. No way that LMU is in higher demand than UCLA and almost as hard to get into as Stanford.

@SoCalPops The letter didn’t say 1400 were admitted - it said 18,000 were applying for 1400 spots. LMU has a very low yield rate, only about 17%, which means they accept many more students than are spaces available.

OK, here’s what it is 18000 applied for 1400 spots. But they have accepted a LOT more than 1400. They probably accepted 10000-12000 for those 1400 spots. Meaning they accept a lot of students, but only 1400 or so take they up on the offer when final decision time comes. Last year’s EA acceptance rate was 69%.

@thesaadsalman Yes, that makes sense.

Are people still getting notified or is it done for the evening? Thanks

I believe it is done for the evening because their office closes at 5pm Pacific Time. Can we get a clarification for when everyone who got their decision applied?

@antc03 notifications are not based on date submitted. D received her EA acceptance today and submitted her application after 11pm on 11/1…almost as late as possible.

I GOT IN!!! (Biology major) Now we just wait for financial aid.

I got deferred from Film Production. Holding out hope for RD.

I got an email around 3:30 saying you have an update in your portal, and then I checked. I got in for business, I applied marketing.

Anyone else applying journalism?

I applied journalism and just got in my email was sent at 5:22

Portal updated around 5 and was deferred ?

I just got deferred for film production. Is that bad? What’s their acceptance rate?

Deferred for Psych, hoping for good news RD. EA applicants represent 40% of the total applicant pool so I think chances might be better for RD applicant pool.

Accepted to the Bellarmime College of Liberal Arts!

I got in for biology also!! Received my financial aid today and it’s only $1000 a year :frowning:
