Hi I am interested in transferring to LMU as a math major and wanted to see if math courses are graded more harshly. Like if they give only a limited number of A’s regardless of merit.

You most likely get the grade you work for and deserve.
I agree with @Muad_dib . Regardless of which university you attend you’re going to receive whatever you work for. There could be a time though where you get a horrendous professor that wouldn’t even give you the time of day if you asked them, but you’ll always find that out during the first two weeks of class.
Overall, I have heard that being a math major is difficult, especially if you plan to go to grad school. At least every single one of my math professors have told me that they had wished that their professors would have marked them wrong for missing a minor detail rather than have the next professor mark the entire exam wrong for missing a symbol.
