does anyone know if there is either grade inflation (kinda easier to get better grades) or deflation (kinda harder to get better grades) at LU?

depends on your prof really. don't take paul cohen classes. As are unheard of.

well let me rephrase that. As are rare.

Each professors sets his/her own policy on grade curving. One class I'm in, the prof will curve you up, but will not curve down. So if you get an 88 in the class, he will not curve you down to a C but might curve you up to an A.

I have another professor that doesn't curve at all. A 60 is a D- and an 80 is a B-. So it just depends.

kassos, I saw your other post about LU not being easy. I understand it is a mixed bag for different classes, but overall would you say you have to work EXTRA hard to get an A, and you might not even get an A even if you work really really hard?

Each major is different. I can only comment on government and music. In government if you work hard and study hard you will get an A. In performance art they grade on effort and attendance. In other majors like physics and math, you need to "get it" in order to do well, as in you need to understand the concepts explained in class, and often this requires lots of group study which is why I always see the physics majors studying together. Sorry I can't be more specific though.
