LMU|LA Admitted Students: Class of '17

Just changed to admitted for me as well!

Congrats everyone and I also checked our Financial Awards should be out the first week in April.

I just got accepted today into business management!

Everyone’s seems to be changing or getting an email! Nothing is happening for me! :frowning: It’s freaking me out!

My friend just got in! She was in the same situation as me but she was emailed 3 hours ago. I have a bad feeling about this! :(

so on thursday night i received an email with the subject “exciting news from LMU” saying (im merely paraphrasing) “dear maria, your acceptance letter is on its way and i wanted to congratulate you on your accptance…etc.” My status on mylmu has changed to admitted as well, but i still havent received anything by mail. Could that all be a computer glitch? I feel like it could be, but the email addressed me by name. Did this happen to anyone else? I’ve never heard of an admissions notification done by email.

Yes! This same thing happened to my son on a Saturday last year, received mail notification the following Monday! Congrats!

@mariakarlee,
Congrats! It’s not a computer glitch.
My son’s admissions notification was done by email on March 15 (see post #143 in this thread), though the email title is different “Important information about your LMU Application”.
And the email begins with:
“Wonderful News! You’ve been accepted for admission to Loyola Marymount University and to the School of Film & Television …”.

There is an LMU ID and default password in the email, and an URL for deposit online on LMU official web site. I tried login it, and the page shows “Balance: $0.0”. Also the Profile on the web shows correct info of my son.

And the next day, the MYLMU status changed to “Admitted”.

How Many of you are planning on Attending Preview Day on Sunday April 14???

Well, it would be nice to hear from LMU soon…I am a deferred EA applicant and I don’t know what the heck is going on with my decision.

I got my letter about 30 mins ago! I got in! :smiley: I am so happy! Good luck and congrats to everyone out there!

My S called admissions this morning and was told that all admissions decisions will be mailed by the end of the day today. Admissions is closed Mar 27-31st.

Looking back at past year’s threads, this last batch of decisions is largely waitlist and rejections.

What a negative, totally unnecessary thing to say, @monique77. It may be true, it may not be. But as a parent, I found your need to categorize it as

to be in poor taste on a thread where some students are still waiting. Not to mention that you repeated this supposition on another thread verbatim. Why not let students have a few more moments of hope rather than be the “Grinch” of the boards?

Yes…some decisions may be waitlists and rejections, but I got accepted TODAY. There is still hope. The last few days means nothing. Good luck to everyone :slight_smile: and Congrats to all other admitted students!

Congrats! :D

@lindseyjane01 Congrats! How were you accepted? Portal, email, or letter?

@lindseyjane01, stats?

congrats @lindseyjane01 and @emilypster!

I know this isn’t a financial aid thread but just thought I’d mention that I received my financial aid package today. :slight_smile: Hopefully everyone starts getting theirs soon.

OK, let me share something about my experience with LMU.
I applied for REGULAR DECISION and started my application in November 2012.
I received a REJECTION email even before I finish sending all the documents. weird!
And I received the email in December 2012! Just a few days before Xmas! (way to ruin the holiday)
And the rejection was for EARLY ACTION, which I didn’t even apply. (double-checked with my common app)
I did not get an official rejection letter, all I get was a rejection email.
I sent numerous emails to LMU, no response from the university.
And I did not receive my LMU account whatsoever.
I am an international student so I didn’t call the university.

Ultimately, it didn’t matter to me that much coz I felt in love with another college that accepted me. But I just felt that the university is kinda unreliable.
