LMU Recording Arts

Anyone here in LMU's Recording Arts program and have anything they'd like to share about it? I know it's in the film school which is supposed to be quite good, and they have a fairly nice looking alumni list (a fair number seem to have worked on major films/video games, though in what capacity I can't say...but still, definitely something I'd love to get into).

LMU isn't one of my top choices but I think I could consider it a safety? (2140 SAT, 760CR 710M 670WR. 4.0 UW GPA. 2 yrs varsity tennis. NHS. volunteer math tutor. lots of musical performance experience on two instruments, some experience recording in homemade studio) It'd definitely be a safety compared to my top schools which all have fairly rigorous portfolio requirements that I am currently scrambling to fulfill. LMU doesn't appear to have any!

I really only have one other safety school (Butler) and frankly I don't think I'd even want to go there. :P So I'd love to hear any input anybody has on Recording Arts at LMU.

Just bumped into this. D is sophomore Production Major, says RECA is a very small program, only admit about 15/year. Pretty serious group. True there is no portfolio requirement but I don’t think you can call it a safety with that few admits. Early admission does give you an advantage to know by Christmas while you wait forever for places like USC and Chapman to finish rolling the dice.
