<p>Actually, a lot of them are mailed to every student at many schools. Your guidance counselor puts you on a list or something.</p>

<p>The school supplies a list of students to colleges. I think that the program things came from taking the psat.</p>

<p>Actually, my mail has gotten ridiculous. One day I got 43 letters from colleges in the mail. Haha, there were so many I actually counted them. </p>

<p>They're (NSHSS, CSLC, NSLC, etc.) not scams, they're for-profit organizations.</p>
