My teacher gave me his (in the envelope i gave him of course). I am wondering.. what if these get lost in the mail... somehow. Will I get any extra time? I can't make copies because he already sealed it..

Might be a good idea to send them with delivery confirmation? :) I got a little nuts with the delivery confirmation with my grad school apps. It only costs $0.60!

A few people last year faxed recommendations which were not received by the deadline. The admissions office will understand if your recommendations get lost in the mail.

Well i sent the first one before I saw this message >.>. forgot to check forums. Anyhow so if mine gets lost in the mail its fine? How long does it normally take for them to get it? Does it change w/ or w/o delivery conformation? Thanks for info mollie!
Oh ya i forgot.. how long is MIT site down? Just today?

Oh, delivery confirmation is just a post office thing -- so you'll know whether or not it's been delivered.

I would say to wait a week or so to see if the letter gets to MIT. (Of course, most letters get there in plenty of time and don't get lost!)
