LOL, those math contests are a joke...

Took the VML (Virginia Math League contest), a 25 minute, 6 question test yesterday, and heard that I tied for highest score at our school (4 of 6 right) with four seniors (am a junior).

What makes this funny?

I fell asleep after doing the fourth question (10 minutes in), and had to be shoved awake when the teacher came to collect the tests. :D

Wow, thats pretty funny.

I'm not sure whether to laugh at the hilarity of it, laugh incredulously, or laugh in derision and obnoxiously, like MWAHAHAHA. :D

Or maybe I should cry, considering that means that the average student is pretty, well...unmotivated.

Hold up - the fifth and sixth questions are pretty hard. I got a lot of 4/6 scores in the NJML during high school, but only one 6/6.

Whoops.

I skipped the second, so I guess I did 1, 3, 4, and 5.

Muh, I was half-asleep the whole time I was vaguely awake! Wouldn't remember...

Don't think I would've gotten the last one, though - wasn't that the one with x, y, z, some wacky thing to do with exponents?

I've gotten sixes twice before, but I was perfectly lucid both times, so they weren't of great interest. :D

Wow, I so didn't know they had those in other states. I always get fives, never sixes. It's quite annoying.

They have these in every state - http://www.mathleague.com
