<p>Don't apply to a certain school just because you think it will get you in. The admissions officers can tell when you do this. Also, in the end, switching schools is a hassel that can just be avoided in the first place</p>

<p>yes and no...less people applying=less spots...and that means you have to be a better fit for that particular major to gain acceptace.</p>

<p>However, more obscure majors often have greater acceptance rates, so it all really depends. The problem is you don't know how many people are going to apply to each major, and how many spots they have available...</p>

<p>I doubt they want people who clearly apply for a specific major to better their chances of acceptance. Your lack of genunine interest will probably be made clear in your academic interest essay, unless you're a great b/s artist.</p>
