lolololololol Stupid Question

In the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill supplement, there's this question:

"Have you been out of school for any reason other than routine vacations, disability-related reasons, or school-related activities? If so, please explain below how you have been spending your time."

What if you were sick? Does simply having the flu count as "disability-related reasons" or what?

Thanks! :)

If you were sick with cancer or something similar it would be a reason
Flu, nope.

I think this is geared towards people who literally will not be in school for a while to pursue something else. For example, there are a couple figure skaters at my school who miss a lot of days because they’re out competing.

just call and ask

Using context clues, it seems like they’re askin if you’ve ever skipped school due other than being sick or on vacation.

In other words, did you ever skip because of court, arrest, work, competition, interview, university visits, etc.

Flu don’t count. Same with dentists, vacation time, or field trips.

No, flu does not count (unless you were hospitalized for something like a month with it.) It is meant for people who have been out of school for an extended period of time due to a severe illness or activity.

I would’ve thought a simple flu wouldn’t count, but I didn’t think they were that serious about attendance. I mean, everyone has doctor appointments and gets sick, but it’s only one or two days. -__-

But thanks! :)
