Hello,
I was searching these forums, and have been unable to find any information whatsoever on the admissions process and statistics of London School of Economics. I am an American student, so I was wondering whether any of you can provide me with some information on admissions to this school.

Thanks.

LSE is a good school. In terms of admissions, as with any English university, you’re going to need to have the equivalent to British A levels in order to apply there. In the US, that would be one of the following:
- A standard US HS diploma plus at least 3 AP exams, probably scored 4+ (I’d think 5, 5, 4 would be okay for most majors/courses there)
- An IB diploma instead of a standard US HS diploma
- A US HS diploma plus one year of college credits

If you have those, then you can apply. If you don’t, you should contact them to see if they’ll let you take their exam:
[Interdisciplinary Institute of Management](http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/undergraduateAdmissions/AdmissionsCriteria/management.htm#Which_international_qualifications_are_accepted_)

It’s one of the best schools in the world. As a result, competition is international and admission for a full degree (meaning, coming in equivalent to a freshman and finishing your degree there) is a rarity for Americans.

A lot of schools in the States offer exchange programs with LSE. Also, it seems that Americans are much more likely to do graduate work there.

In this era of skype, be direct. Give them a call and get the information from the source.
