Can anyone suggest some universities/colleges that are known for their Biotech program for the undergraduates?

I tried US News and World Report website but did not have much luck :(

We are starting our college research and wanted to know how to go about it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried looking at the graduate rankings from USNWR?, IMO it should help give a general idea of the school's undergraduate strength.

Biochem:

Schools I know that have a strong biotech/biomed program: UC San Diego ( there is a Bioengineering major with an emphasis on biotech ), Duke, Johns Hopkins, Rice, Stanford, MIT

I second UCSD.

I'm also tempted to say Georgia Tech...

If bio research is contemplated, consider the undergrad schools that produce the highest percentages of future bio PhDs:

Percent of PhDs per grad
Academic field: Bio and Health Sciences
PhDs and Doctoral Degrees:
ten years (1994 to 2003) from NSF database
Number of Undergraduates:
ten years (1989 to 1998) from IPEDS database

Note: Does not include colleges with less than 1000 graduates over the ten year period

1 California Institute of Technology 5.4%
2 Reed College 4.8%
3 Swarthmore College 4.4%
4 University of Chicago 3.3%
5 Massachusetts Institute of Technology 3.1%
6 University of California-San Francisco 3.1%
7 Harvard University 3.0%

18 Carleton College 2.5%
19 Stanford University 2.5%

Don't leave out BU. It seems to get a bad rap on CC in general, but its BioE/BME is first-class.

Thanks to all for getting me started on how to go about this. Our S in a junior at HS and is interested in the field. So we are just getting started with the process of narrowing down the colleges he should be looking into.

Wisconsin and UCSD are two leaders. Ga Tech is not.
