Does anyone have any info on Wheaton? Anyone visited recently? Any current students or alums out there with comments?

There are a number of posts on Wheaton in this forum if you do a search......I'm an alum.......I'm a big fan of Wheaton.......near two major cities but in a very bucolic setting.....near a ton of other colleges for visiting friends, excellent profs who are accessible......and there's a very good internship program as well......I made the best friends I've ever had there.....still keep in touch with my Wheaton friends....(even met my husband through a Wheaton friend).......It's also on the Twelve College Exchange with Williams, Amherst, Wellesley, etc....check out their website and try to visit if you can......there's a dynamic new president who just started this past Sept. ......there are also some new sports facilities that are beautiful.....and brand new dorms.....good luck in your search!

Thanks, dke, for your thoughts. What did you do after leaving Wheaton?

Sorry this took so long to write...I rarely check this board....After Wheaton a group of us all moved down to NYC......Because of my Wheaton internships at MObil Oil and Citibank I was the first in my class to get a job at Chase Manhattan Bank in their investment advisory division.....I also worked in Media for Young and Rubicam and ended up working for a Wall St. Law firm.......(as a travel coordinator) I chose a "pink collar" profession in the end due to my lack of tolerance for pressure, but all of my Wheaton friends went on to varying professions.....banking, retail, museum work....there were several lawyers at the firm who'd been just ahead of me at Wheaton and went to top notch law schools.....hope this is helpful.....take a look at their website if you're interested.....

dke, what do you recommend to a student who wants to work in finance or investment banking in NYC? (Major, Internship, etc.) Do you think Wheaton provides the resources one would need to achieve a goal like this?

well, xtx....my roommate was a double major Econ/English.....she ended up working for a big bank in Hong Kong.......another student in my class went right into the credit training program at Chase which was impossible to get into at the time......but I can't tell you in that I graduated quite a long time ago....I would recommend going online....they have a link, I believe, where you can ask current students curriculum questions......also on the website there should be a list of econ courses offered.....etc...check it out......
