Looking for medium-sized college in the northeast for undecided major - 3.7, 1400

Sometimes, there is quite a contrast between the school and the surrounding town. For example, Colby College students are ethnically diverse, but heavily skewed toward high income family backgrounds, while the town of Waterville, Maine that it is in is over 90% White and mostly lower middle income.

Look at Wesleyan in CT. Big creative art scene, very inclusive, not cut-throat, a little bigger than most of the LACs.

I’m going to echo a few of the recommendations that have already been made: Vassar, Bard, Muhlenberg, Ithaca College, and Skidmore but add in

SUNY Purchase (a top public liberal arts college that is racially and socioeconomically diverse with a good theater program 30m from NYC)

and Hofstra, which has lots of extracurricular theater and dance opportunities, and has a 5* rating on the Pride Index.

Wesleyan, even though it’s a reach. I’m hoping that your geographical diversity and Pacific Islander heritage will check two boxes for them. Hyper-liberal. Plenty of arts. Central CT with true 4 seasons, on commuter rail line to New Haven (which also connects to Amtrak and Metro North to NYC). Most definitely NOT a commuter school.
