Looking for a mid sized college/university for an excellent student (with excellent scores) interested in cognitive science, neuroscience and art in the northeast, not in the middle of a city. I'm looking for match and safety schools so not Ivies. Any ideas? Thanks!

University of Rochester

good suggestion, as long as Rochester isn’t a city in the mind of the applicant. so, too, Syracuse. Lafayette, Albany, Brandeis, BC, BU, Bucknell, Connecticut College, Cornell (yeah, I know), Mount Holyoke, RPI, Skidmore, Smith, Stony Brook, Vassar, Wellesley

CUNY, Fordham, Georgetown, Hopkins if applicant can get over the city thing.

Just did this thing with my D. I’m sure I’m leaving out a bunch.

oops, I forgot about the mid-size limitation. That rules out Bucknell, Connecticut, Mount Holyoke (altho it’s part of a 5 college consortium), Skidmore, Smith, Vassar and Wellesley. Oh, and BU is in a city. Duh. I’m sorry. Makes the need for some consideration of cities a bit stronger.

I second Brandeis.

Thank you for those suggestions. Anyone have any other ideas?
