Hey everyone, I’m posting for a friend who is looking for the following characteristics in a college:
–Small to medium size (I’d say under 10,000), coed
–In the Northeast (NJ/PA/MD/NY/CT/NH/VT/MA/ME/RI), preferably in a hip but calm/ safe town
–Good programs in foreign languages & psychology (with research opportunities), has an art program
–Creative, stimulating project/research oriented programs
–One on one time with profs
–Creative, intelligent people who aren’t basic
–Not huge on partying, or at least able to easily avoid parties
Please leave any suggestions you have and thanks again!
All of the schools noted above fit the bill but are expensive and have competitive admissions. Would that work for your friend? He/she might also look into Hamilton, Bard, and Skidmore.
I’d say for this individual, admission percentages in the 30% or less range is accurate.
I mean the nice part about top tier LACs is they tend to be generous with aid (avg final cost of Haverford is like 19k, Bowdoin 22k, Swat 25k) so those would probably work out fine. But places like Tufts- no chance in hell.
