Looking for scholarships? Might I recommend the University of Mississippi?

Hello!

For anyone that is looking for a college that is incredibly generous in giving merit based, specifically based on test scores and GPA, it wouldn't hurt to apply to Ole Miss! All you have to do is gain admission to the university and fill out and complete the Special Programs & Scholarships application! If you apply to the Honors College and gain admission, you become eligible for even more scholarships :)

Here is a link to the scholarships page: The University of Mississippi ? Office of Financial Aid

I was awarded five scholarships and received a Pell Grant, so I will be able to meet the cost of attendance and receive a little refund!

I got a 1440/2140 on my SAT and an overall 3.95 GPA, and was awarded both the Academic Excellence Award and the Academic Excellence Non-Resident Award. I received the Holmes Scholarship since I had a conversion ACT score of at least 24 and a GPA of 3.5 and am from out of state. I received the Academic Excellence Technology Award because, again, of my GPA and SAT test scores, but it's only for the first year. I applied to the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College and was accepted and I received the Doris Raymond Honors Scholarship.

Look through the entire page, because there are a lot of different things to qualify for! And before I applied and browsed the page, I wrote down all the scholarships I could be eligible for, and I was awarded them! Of course, my essays, recommendations, and possibly my extracirriculars (personally, I'm not very confident in them!) aided me in getting into the Honors College and the honors scholarship.

Good luck on your college search!! :)

very helpful
