Any advice/input you may have to offer is greatly appreciated, thanks!
So I have to choose between:
Stockton college (I’d live at home) : cost = free (with my scholarship)
or
SDSU : relatively expensive for me OOS like 30k
ASU : About 28k OOS with my scholarship
FSU : About 30k OOS
U of Tampa : About 30k OOS with my scholarship
Basically I can’t decide between staying at home and going to a not crazy good school but avoiding debt, or going out of state to much better schools but putting myself in considerable debt as I have to pay for school myself.
Honestly, it depends if you want to go into debt or not. If you don’t want to, the choice is clear. But everything I’ve heard about SDSU and FSU has been great!
You are looking at spending a lot of money for OOS tuition vs. free. Are there no other instate options for you? You haven’t said what programs you are interested in that would draw you to these large public OOS universities. But my initial judgement of your list suggests that by “much better” you are referring to public reputation/how good it will look on a T-shirt and your primary interest is going someplace with nice weather and a good party scene. As a parent, I would not pay the $$ for any of these OOS options.
Why not spend the first two years at Stockton (or a community college), where you will save money and then transferto a state school for the last two years? That way you graduate with less debt. Any school that would require you to assume debt at $30k/year should be out of the question.
Never heard of Stockton College, you do not mean Stockton College in CA? I googled the name and turned out is in NEW Jersey. Then what about TCNJ, Mountclair and Rowan, in addition to the up thread of Rutgers?
Do you mean Richard Stockton or Culver Stockton or another Stockton I haven’t heard of?
If Richard Stockton, did you apply to TCNJ and Rowan?
At ASU, did you apply to/get into Barrett?
