I want a book that I can use over the summer to improve my math skills. I’m pretty good at math, and I have a good foundation, but I want to improve my ability to solve complex math problems that require a lot of thinking. Would Art of Problem Solving be a good book for that? If so, what volumes should I take? And are there any other books out there that would be of help?
Bump??
To clarify, I would like to improve my math maturity and I need a good book for that.
AoPS is a good idea; you can try their Introduction and Intermediate volumes (algebra, geometry, combo, number theory) which are around AMC/AIME level. There are other volumes of books but I’m not as familiar with them.
I have a lot of plans this summer. If I could only get 1 (MAYBE 2) book, which one do you suggest I get and why?
AoPS Precalculus might be a good choice, especially since you want to prepare for AP Calc AB.
