I am currently in my third year of community college, I finished the IGETC requirements, and I am about to finish my associates for transfer in English. The problem is I no longer want to major in English and want to switch to chemistry. I have not prepared at all for chemistry and i’m not even sure if i would get accepted as a chemistry major. I don’t want to stay a fourth year in community college but I also don’t want to transfer as an English major. I am thinking of applying to some UC’s such as Berkley, Irvine, Los Angeles, Riverside, and Santa Barbara. I’m also thinking of applying to some of the CSU’s such as cal poly and san diego state university. Would it be better to wait another year, transfer as an English major and change majors, or just apply as a chemistry major? I am planning on making an appointment to talk to a counselor but I wanted to ask for opinions on here.
