Appreciate any help - my son is looking at transferring to Cornell from a Community where he is in the honors program, currently has a 3.7 and is Phi Theta Kappa. He had a phone interview and was told that there is a minimum of 60 credits earned to even transfer to Cornell. He was also told that any credits that he earned in High School (non-AP) for college courses would NOT count in those credits.

Anyone else told this? I am assuming since this was an admissions/guidance counselor they would know - but just putting it out there for any answers/experience on this.

I would say it depends on what school within Cornell he’s applying to.
Different schools have different requirements.
I know that ILR (School of Industrial & Labor Relations) wants you to complete 2 english courses, micro, macro, history, etc. If you have these credits with decent grades, then that’s the start. Then comes the application, essays, etc…
Like I said, this is for ILR. Different schools want different requirements that meet within their core education.
Instead of talking to a regular admissions, talk to the admissions for that school and they will assist you on what they specifically want.
hope that helped a little.
