Looks like UCSB doesn't look at PS's.

<p>Emailed a UCSB transfer specialist today and asked how much weight does the personal statement carry in terms of an acceptance decision. He said, "We don't rank the Personal Statement. Just grades, courses, and units." Ahh, I really hope I can get academic renewal done quickly so I can update my GPA to a 3.4. It's currently at a 2.9 which is below the TAG minimum. =/</p>

<p>Glad to know most of these schools don’t even look at the PS. I completely blew through it the day I submitted my application.</p>

<p>It really depends if you have anything in your academic record that they may question then they do look at your personal statement to determine what might happened. Im in the same situation, I applied with a 2.9 and it should be up by the Fall. Just make sure you finish math and English requirements by the winter it looks better.</p>
