LoR Question

I asked a Professor to write a letter of recommendation for me based on my performance in her class, but she asked if I could write something for her since she doesn't know me that well that she can incorporate into the letter.

Does anyone know what kind of things she is looking for? I've..never read or written a letter of recommendation..:(

I know I am supposed to get super awesome letters from Professors who know my birthday and on a first name basis, but I really like this Professor and would like the letter to be from her so..

If anyone can give me some clues or links that would be great, thank you very much.

What I did with professors who didn't know me that well was I gave them a copy of my personal statement, some of the writing I've done over the years, and offered to interview with them if they needed any extra material.

Meet with the professor and discuss your plans in medicine... give him a copy of your ECs. And, as bdm said, give him/her a copy of your personal statement.

what really IS a personal statement.

It helps if you also add your most updated CV along with you statement of purpose.
Make sure you update your list of strengths and accomplishments in your CV before submitting.

lethargytm,

Personal Statement: the essay you include with your primary application. The basic prompt is "why do you wish to go into medicine".
