Los Angeles Times refuses to release tape that they have of Obama+Ayers+Ayers+Khalidi

Thoughts?

McCain Slams LA Times for Double Standard in Withholding Obama-Khalidi Tape - FOXNews.com Elections

The Knesset and its policies are really nice, but their military (which, like the Pentagon, bears significant autonomy) confounds decency, so I'm not going to bash the * state * Israel but it is important, from the outset of any such discussion (which is the reason I'm including this sentence), to observe that the Israeli army's perpetrations are not all so popular within Israel, and what aggravates the situation is that these "evil" (forgive me) decisions are usually unilateral. I recall a Knesset attempt to indirectly lower this autonomy, but that will take some Googling to check.

That said, with regard to the article in particular, McCain's criticism appears to be a little misguided. (I would add that its timing is conspicuous, but that is both obvious and no worse than the overall dealings of other "decent" politicians.) I would like to see that video too, but the LA Times should not be expected to break confidentiality by public demand. Where I would have actively wanted to criticise McCain is in his "double standard" allegation... but I suppose this week's politics is to be full of speculations and doomsday warnings akin to "The Call" in California over 4/8.

Pug,

Give it up already. Nobody is buying this stuff. McCain/Palin are going to lose on Tuesday. Badly.

You're right gbes, nobody's buying the fact that there is a tape, and that the LA Times is being completely unbiased in this

L.A. Times spokeswoman Nancy Sullivan wouldn’t discuss the decision not to release the tape in detail.

“When we reported on the tape six months ago, that was our full report,” she said, and asked, “Does Politico release unpublished information?”

Ben Smith, of Politico, says yes, LA Times dodos, we do report everything :)

Brit Hume opened his Fox News show with this story today, and reported that the Times is now saying “No comment.”

Believe what you want.

McCain's going to surprise you :)

ReviewJournal.com - News - 300,000 in state cast early ballots so far

Huge Dem margins and Obama leads by 2 :(

The L.A. Times received the video from a confidential source that offered the tape only on the condition that they keep the tape confidential. Just because Fox News scrapes the bottom of the barrel to get their "commentators" doesn't mean other news sources don't have journalistic integrity.

LA times wrote this story 6 months ago. thus putting it into the public, not suppressing it.

Journalistic integrity keeps them from stooping to unethical levels.

I have a friend who was deported from Israel by the Israeli government because she had seen too many of the murders and bloodshed committed by the Israeli government. Let's be careful in blind allegiance just because it fulfills Biblical prophecy. Plus, if 1/3 of the people booing this issue at Palin campaign rallies could point to Israel on a blank map, I would be surprised. The kids behind Palin looked bored out of their mind, then just started booing.

If McPalin are resorting to this in the final week, they have nothing of worth to offer the American people. Obama's message is coherently rising to incorporate every phase of his campaign and tie a ribbon on it by defining one final time his policy agenda. McCain is grabbing for desperation. Policies aside, the maturity is clearly on the side of youth in this situation.

I missed you, Pug. I thought you'd throw the towel in. Hannity brought you back, though. Hannity always brings you back.

Btw - I actually clicked on one of your endless links and realized they don't support your arguments at all. Nevada's supposed to be close, Pug. I don't know why that surprises you. It's a red state turning blue. A couple point margin is expected.

I find it strange that the original article did not say anything about such agreement, their word recently was "no comment", and they're only now jumping on the "we had an agreement" bandwagon. Something doesn't smell right to me.
