i'm in my 1st year of cc and i have completed
-college writing 1
-college algebra
-soc101
-computer class (elective)

I don't have a particular college i want to go to but anything that is not a state university. something private. so the question is should i follow my school's general education requirements (AA) for a greater chance at transfering or pick specific classes (i don't know if those go hand in hand)? Just don't want to regret choosing the wrong classes.

what i got down for spring so far is
-bio with lab
-precalculus

i went through some univ general requirements...and some according to major and took my classes accordingly. moreover, although im in univ, i am tryin to make my courses morelike liberal arts takin sciences and maths. hope it helped u

Do you know what your planned major is? If so, you might look at a few possible transfer schools and see what they like freshmen and sophomores to have taken.

I'm not saying that should supersede your current plan; but it is a good way to think about choosing. If the recommended curriculum of the possible transfer schools differs from what your cc recommends or your adviser recommends, I would talk that over with the adviser.

For majors like Engineering, the courses you take the first year are pretty critical. For a lot of other majors, getting your GenEd out of the way can work well.
