Lost my essay, have to do it again.

I lost my ten page research essay. I don't know how exactly, but I either saved my 1 page draft on top of the ten page essay or when I saved it a bunch of times I didn't click "save as" since I was doing it from the document i opened from my email.
My dad is a computer genius and he looked everywhere- on my temp, searching the name, backup files, restore previous doc, and bunch of other stuff. I saved the document more than 15 times while writing it 5 hours straight.

Anyways its gone, and im completely depressed, but my teacher said that I have to write it all over again.... I get an extension giving me as much time as needed but cannot write the essay as perfectly as I did before.

The only thing left I have of that essay is a draft I did a week ago, and the 21 citations I have in my separate doc Bibliography.

My question is how should I cope with this?
I'm a perfectionist and over-achiever, and remember the basis of my information I wrote two days ago, but cannot remember all of the word choice and how I worded my research essay.
I asked my teacher if I could just write an outline or recite the basis of the essay in front of him, but he said that it should be an essay. I can possibly push it further and beg him since he is pretty chill and sort of nice, but I get intimidated by him, or almost any guy.

DID this ever happen to you?

Yeah, when I was in AP world, but instead of losing my essay on the computer I actually accidentally threw one of my FRQ essays in the trash when class ended and it was time for us to turn them in! I had restarted my essay on different pieces of paper and I guess I turned in/threw away the wrong one. And it was the final for the class too! Thankfully, my teacher was pretty chill about, she just said that she would count the other essay.
My suggestion is just to redo it, if its an important essay there’s no getting around that
