So a few weeks ago I received a letter in the mail from my school’s Finacial Aid office in regards to me losing on of my scholarships. Both semesters were tough on me financially and academically, due to me trying to stay a full-time student during the second semester I was unable to drop a class I wasn’t doing good in, because if I did I would lose money for the next school year and it was also too late to register for another class. Unfortunately, my GPA dropped from a 2.33 to a 2.00 and one of my scholarships required me to get a 2.5 and above to renew the scholarship for the 2016-2017 school semester. I wrote an appeal asking for the scholarship back online, but my friend suggested I also write one to the school’s Financial Aid office. I was wondering if I already wrote an appeal online, why do I need to write a letter to the Financial Aid office as well, and is there anything more I could do to earn this scholarship back?
Did you just send the financial aid office a regular email asking them to reconsider your scholarship, or did you find instructions on how to submit a formal appeal? If there is a formal appeals process, then you need to follow those instructions.
I think I found instructions on how to file an Academic Scholarship Appeal, I thought this was the formal way to send an appeal. I will most mostly send an email tomorrow and see what happens then.
