I have wanted to be a doctor ever since I figured out how to apply a band aid. I was rejected from Brown and now have to make a choice between these schools:
UC Santa Cruz (neuroscience & behavior with possibly a double major in humanities)
UC Santa Barbara (bio-chem)
UC Davis (neurobiology, physiology, & behavior)
Santa Clara University (biology...)

I am taking into consideration my personal preferences, but it would be veryyyyyyyyy useful to know how each of those colleges would be viewed while reviewing my med school application. I worked extraordinarily hard in high school and I want to give myself any advantage that I can.

oh and I think I plan to take a year or two off inbetween undergrad and med school to join the peace corp.....is that a bad idea?

Two years off is fine -- Peace Corps is better than fine.

I heard most pre-med students cram most of their requirements into their first two years, if I take a few years off does that mean I can space out my courses a little more?

Yup, exactly.
