Lot of questions, no one knows the correct anws.

Hello,

I'm in wierd situation I'll tell everything form begining.

I was living in Poland 19 years, im a GREEN CARD HOLDER and resident of Connecticut. Right now I'm in Community Collage but I want to make an transfer to University Of Connecticut fall 2013. I sent few emails to uConn but they did not respond. Once i was chatting online but the person who i was speaking with was thinking that im an international student all the time. So well let me begin my questions.

Just like I have said, I'm in Community collage right now. Now Ive got 6 classes and next semester i gonna take 5 or 6 classes, that means i gonna have about .. 24 - 27 credits to transfer ( 2 classes are not transferable). Now my questions appear .. do I have to pass SAT and TOEFL's exams? Do I have to prepare my all transcripts from hight school. Im trying to be a good student of CC , what means im A's and B's student. No idea what i have to do now, im stuck , CC advaisors says i have to go to Uconn and ask them , and uconn says i have to talk with advaisor form CC … I need someone who can tell me what exacly i have to do .. i hope someone can help me ..

An online forum like this is hardly where you go to get advice. I suggest that you make a trip to UConn (since you’re in CT it can’t be too difficult?), and ask for an appointment with an admissions counselor.

If your English is as rough as it appears to be from your post, you might have trouble just because of that. You might want to take some English classes at your community college.

My guess is that you do need to take the SATs and TOEFL, but that’s not enough information, you need to get specific info about requirements.

Hello,

I’m taking english courses in CC, I do not have much problems with communication but with gramma. It is hard to jump from Polish to English.

You are saying that I should go to UConn and ask them, but that the point, they are sending me back to my CC and then CC is doing the same thing by sending me to UConn. Once I received an information form UConn that I do not have to take TOEFL beacuse while applying I’ll be after one class of english so it wont be nessesary, but after some time I have asked the same question in admission in Uconn they told that i have to pass toefl. I know that international students have to take a TOEFL with 1st language is not english, but I;m a green card holder so I’m like us resident…

Here is the website that provides the info:

[Transfer Admission | Undergraduate Admissions](Transfer Applicants | Undergraduate Admissions : Undergraduate Admissions)

You should check with your community college to see if you qualify to enroll in the guaranteed program described here:

[Guaranteed Admissions Program | Undergraduate Admissions](Guaranteed Admission Program | Undergraduate Admissions : Undergraduate Admissions)

If the community college says you do not meet the guidelines established by unconn, then that is it you do not qualify.

Thank you perazziman,

I was thinking about Guaranteed Admission Program, but by picking this option I have to be at least 2 years in CC, and I do not want to.

They are providing such information :

“Students with less than two years of college are evaluated on the basis of high school and college work (high school GPA and class rank, SAT or ACT scores, quality of academic courses, and college performance to date).”

So I found a answer for almost all of my questions but I’m still stuck with TOEFL…

You are a legal resident who was educated outside the country, so while you are a US applicant for financial aid purposes, your high school record might need to be evaluated by the international admissions officer. You should ask the transfer advisor at your community college to help you get in touch with the right people at UConn who can help you with your application process.
