Lots of APs senior year. Should I go SCEA?

For my sophomore and junior years I took the accepted (but unofficial) maximum of APs at my HS: 2. I took European History and Chemistry sophomore year and US History and Language my junior year. I got As in all of them and scored all 5s on the AP tests. I still have an unweighted 4.0 GPA. Stanford is certainly my first-choice school.

Next year I plan to take 4 or 5 more APs: Biology, Calculus BC, Literature, Government, and maybe French. I know I will do well in them, but colleges don't. Will applying SCEA hurt my chances because adcoms won't have first semester grades? Will they think that I took a lot more hard classes senior year to impress them and then planned on bombing them?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Considering that you have a 4.0, Stanford will believe that you are able to handle it. If they are concerned, they will defer you. So, given that acceptance rates are way higher for EA, definitely apply EA. The only people that should not apply EA are those that are waiting for a higher GPA and/or test scores.

Applying EA will not hurt you in any way. If you "bomb" your APs senior year, they can always rescind your admission.

They could always call up your school and check to see how you're doing if they are really worried.

im taking that exact same schedule my senior year

that doesnt really answer your question...

i was just throwing that out there... haha

umm definately apply scea. I was like you, applied scea and got in. With the number of APs I was taking there was no way i could hold up my average past first term. Plus man, you have no idea how nice the rest of the year is when you are in scea....a well deserved break.
