So I've been wanting to go into engineering for awhile. Maybe civil, maybe aerospace. I've also always been interested in architecture and atrsonomy. See any pattern? They all require tons of Math and Science. Want to guess what my worst subjects are? Yeah, Math and Science. I like Math when I understand it, but my grades aren't that great. Problem is, I'm good at English and History, but have no desire for a career in it.

So basically my question is, is it really reasonable to pursure any of the careers I mentioned if I royaly suck at Math and Science but love the job?

Engineering math and science is different from pure math and science. At least try to pursue Engineering if you really feel like it's for you.

i hate math but do engineering, math is my worst subject.

Thanks for the feedback. I just don't want to be swamped with math classes my fresh yr that I can't handle

Sometimes I wonder if I should just do a BS in applied mathematics then do an MS an mechanical engineering. I'm in my 3rd year in ME. One of my professors has an BS and MS in applied math and a phd in ME. He says in the industry he knows many good engineers, but many lack mathematics. They will always stay at a 2nd rate and not be on top because of their math. He has actually tutored his co workers in mathematics, and they said it changed their lives!? This is why I decided take my engineering electives in math.

I abhor non-applied math, but I see it as a necessary evil since I love engineering. I just work through it, and once I get done with a course and know it, the math becomes more enjoyable.
