I screwed up my first couple years of undergrad due to alcohol problems. However, my gpa were consistently above 3.5 during my last 4 semesters.
So these are my final numbers:
GPA: 2.8 at an ivy league institution(Govt. major).
Ive been working for a year now and recently took LSAT and got a score of 172.

Do I have any chance of getting into a tier 1 law school? Or just a decent law school?

Sure, you have a great shot at a bunch of Tier 1 schools. See http://myLSN.info/dispresults.php?sk=nt8wd

I’d recommend taking another year off to put some distance between you and your GPA. Do well at work and get a great recommendation from your employer and you have a good shot at Northwestern.

I’d recommend signing up for CAS now and getting your recs from professors sent in ASAP so that you have them on record when they have some memory of you.
