Hello, I live in Canada, which has an overall average instead of GPA. My SAT score was 1450 and my Math Lv 2 score was 780. My current average is 89%, but when I look online to convert to GPA, it says that 89% is 3.3 and 90 is 3.7. The difference is extreme. Now I feel like my GPA is bringing me down and that I will not get into any universities I apply to. Do you guys know what my GPA would be exactly? Or if you have any recommendations for schools I can get into with my grades that would be much appreciated!
First off, you need to convert your GPA course by course. Secondly, you don’t convert your GPA unless a college asks you to. Third, your GPA will be viewed in the context of your school. An 89 where you are in the top 10% is perceived differently than if your 89 is in the 4th decile. Finally, many US high schools give out A’s like candy; secondary schools in most countries outside the US don’t. And AOs know that.
