i have a high SAT it is 2100 but low GPA around 3.2 or (80%avg). do i have any chance to be accepted on a good univ ?

Maybe. I'm kind of in the same situation. If you have a nice rank then thats good because that would just show that your school has fairly rigorous courses, which justifies your low GPA.

check my thread in the SAT Preparation section. I have the same sit. It's getting good.

yeah same situation only with my act score... 29 act... 3.3 gpa

What is good? I think you'd have a decent shot at a top 20 state school, top 50 overall, generally. You should be fine.

80% average is not 3.2. You dont simply divide 3.2/4 to get a percentage. You have to account for the fact that a 0-65 average is less than 1.0 GPA. So an 80% is about a 2.5/4.0.

uh... i just want to say that i am an international students.. it is hard to see what GPA i have to get.. my average score is 82.70

yea...i have a 3.4 GPA but SATs will be in the 2200s. I am trying to get into Brown Early Decision...wish me luck!!

It's generally hard to get into competitive schools with a high SAT score and a low GPA. That means that you're not working to your full potential (unless you can explain another reason to the college...)

I have a 2210 and a 3.7 uw (but only 4 APs, although many honors and ECs)...i am trying to get into 4 top 20 schools...wish me luck...

although i am avoiding ivys...all the school i am applying to accept at least 30% of applicants...

well i have a similar issue but mine is worse, i have a 3.2 gpauw-5.7 w gpa and a 29 act. and i want to go to uwisconsin which would be OOS,so it will be even harder to get in added to the fact that i need finaid but i wont get any merit money since my stats are low. i hope uwisconsin will see my weighted gpa and notice i've been taking really hard classes.

As others have said, an 80% is not a 3.2 GPA, it's around a 2.5. You'll be able to get into a good school, but you'll have a very hard time shooting for anywhere in the top 30 or so.

I have a 3.1-----1420. Im applying to syracuse, michigan, ithaca, nyu, penn state, u cinncinati

84 average, 2350. This whole game should be interesting. :)

ok let's say not in GPA it is 82 average and 1840 SAT>< i have been late - - to register to US... - - i think i have made a late decision to study in US. i graduated this year. but i just taken sAT this May,and i am waiting for June, then i will enter US universities, next year lol (late decision can be destructive). any idea where should i apply, for this late guy ? . . . and early decision is good ? . .

Note: goin study mandarin before enterin uni . .. c ya US next year...

speaking of GPA's ...what does a 95% average convert too?

hmm...i have a 4.4 (weighted, 89th percentile), but low SATs 1950...trying to get to a top 25 instate

lil your so wrong 80% is even a little greater then 3.2. 2.5 are you nuts a 3.0 gpa some places are 80, but generally it's a 75%.

What you might mean is weighted or unweighted but if it's unweighed his gpa would be even bigger.

wait so what does a 95% Convert too?
