low grade point av?

hmm..is it possible to get into a school with tons of "hooks" ..like i skipped a grade..and i have a lot of stuff that makes me different...like even nationally..however my grades aren't the best cause stuff happened in between and everything got all screwy...how bad could a B+ gpa affect me if i want to go to vandy?
[ p.s = SAT scores/SAT II scores are good - above avg for vandy ]

10 views? no response =(

I'm not sure if skipping a grade would be a hook- I could be wrong. but, yes, if you explained what stuff happened.

I'm not sure what a B+ gpa is but I guess you're saying something like 3.5 unweighted 3.8-4.0 weighted. You still have a decent chance at getting in with the lower gpa if your other aspects are solid but I wouldn't depend on the "hooks" to get you in.

well 3.2999 unweighted and 4.414 weighted

top 15% - 20% of my class i think i duno..400 people in my class
VERY competitive HIGH SCHOOL

your grading scale sounds weird...

chocolate cake does have a weird grading scale. How does a 3.3 get to a 4.4? I can understand maybe a 3.7, but who knows. Oh but speaking of weighting, how does everyone's high school weight? My school is 3 points for Honors and 5 points for AP.

A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0 for normal classes, and then A=5, B=4, C=3, D=1, F=0 for some honors and AP classes. pluses and minuses dont count. D- counts as passing grade. max you can get by taking all normal classes is 4.0, max you can get by taking all honors/AP (which cant happen) is 5.0... and it is impossible to get a 3.3 unweighted turned into a 4.4 weighted. (at my school)
