3.0 gpa on my first semester junior year but 4.0 gpa on second semester. Do I have good chance of going to decent 4 year college?

only your cumulative GPA matters. im in the same situation you’re in. i have a perfect math score on my SAT and a 3.0 cumulative gpa. my overall sat is 2210, but its really hard to get in anywhere if your cumulative is under 3.5

What were previous two years like? How do you define “decent 4 year college”? Where do you want to go and what do you want to major in? A B average one semester isn’t a deal breaker.

Yes you can certainly get into a “decent” 4 year college. There are a lot of very good public universities which will admit you even if your GPA is below 3.5. It is all a question of matching your academics to the admission standards of the school. Please don’t assume that the only schools where you can get a good education are the Ivies or the super selective publics. The quality of your undergraduate education largely depends on YOUR effort and willingness to take advantage of what the school offers.

I’ve looked at some of your previous posts. It seems that you don’t even know what your culmulative GPA is. Why don’t you introduce us to that fact before we comment on your college target list?
