low SAT score international student

I got a 1930 in SAT 1 and im an international student. I am targeting low liberal arts colleges like Elmira and Lafayette and some good ones. Is there any chance I will get in with aid and scholarships? I really need both....otherwise I can't go. I really need some help guys. I am also giving SAT II in december and my counselor says its an advantage plus my dads retired so i'll be considered for aid. Should I give it again in Jan or will it be too late?
Please help me.
My GPA is above average, around 3.8.

Okay, you can get around with that score, if you don’t need financial aid. Now, that you do , its going to be a lot tougher. Look for universities that provide merit aid, I found a post here regarding some of them . IF you think you can raise your score by 200-300 then give it .
Best of Luck!
And which country are you from ?

Im from Pakistan. anyone else’s opinion is welcome too.

What was you score breakdown for the SAT? Cause if you did better in CR and W and it was your math that pulled you down, then it may give you a higher chance of getting into liberal arts. It depends on what you want to major in as well.

If the colleges you are applying to accept Jan SAT scores… then I’d say give it a try. Strong academics and essays should get you into Elmira but dont know about Lafayette!!
Also… as gabby135 says… your sub scores matter as well! So if you’ve got a low CR and no TOEFL/IELTS… you would mostly need to write it again!! Anyway All the best!!
