I’m a senior and I took my SAT for the third time in October. I do well in school and I have lots of extracurriculars but my SAT score is so low. I got a 1230. Will my SAT score affect my college decision by much? I know what I want to do in my future already (i’m very sure) and I have joined organizations since 9th grade and have done 2 internships already that pertain to the medical field. I only have 2 more times to take the SAT and i’m so nervous and scared. I’m not sure if i’ll do well and it’s coming up quick because they’re in November and December. I’m also taking 5 ap classes this year so it’s super hectic. I was hoping this would be my last time taking the SAT but…
It all depends on what level of college you ae applying to. A 1230 will make HYPSM level colleges pretty much impossible.
It will be a strong negative at schools like BU, Northeastern, USC etc.
I’m applying to instate schools: Georgia State, UGA, Tech, Emory (last two major reach for my SAT), and UNG (already accepted). But i’m also applying to UNC in North Carolina as well. I’m most likely taking it two more times (hopefully only the next one though). UGA is definitely a match school for me but i’m afraid if I don’t do well on my next SATs, those scores will put me in a disadvantage.
@escapethesun
Do you have any hooks??
I personally think a 1230 is a little low for UGA as well even if you are instate. What have your practice test scores looked like?
