Would having a high AP score help offset a lower grade in a class? For example, if someone got a B in Bio but a 4 on the test, or an A- in AP US but a 5 on the test, would that help prove that the class is very hard, explaining the lower grades but the level of preparation attained for the AP test? Sorry if this isn’t completely coherent, thanks so much!
A B or A- isn’t seen as that bad of a grade in AP.
College admissions will hardly look at your AP scores and it is not a deciding factor. They are aware the classes are difficult. Even if your school doesn’t weigh GPAs, CAOs are very familiar with a rigorous schedule that has a lower UW gpa.
I wasn’t trying to say that they are bad grades, because they aren’t, but would higher AP scores than class scores signify either luck or that the class was particularly rigorous at one school?
