Lower SAT mark but higher IB mark

I know there are tonnes of threads asking to be "chanced" but since I have quite a mediocre SAT score and a high IB (International baccalaureate) mark I have been wondering how that would play out for me.
Thanks

I'm a Canadian student applying for RD
IB predicted mark: 42 (possibly 43)

SAT:
Wr : 710
CR: 740
M : 620

SAT II
Taking French w/ listening and Math in Nov.
I'm a fairly strong math student, so I dont know why I did so badly in the math section of the SAT reasoning test and I'm hoping that the subject test will reflect that

Extracurricular
Leadership program at my school in which we coordinated:
- Terry Fox Run (raises money for cancer research)
-a "winter carnival" for 120 gr.7 coming the next year to our school to introduce them to high school
- 30 hour Famine (world vision sponsored event) etc.

Volunteered as a Math and Science Tutor

Played intramural badminton

Worked at Staples

Actually, writing this post makes me realize that it is probably my lack of extracurriculars that will hurt me the most.
What do you think?

You didn't post your GPA. Am I missing something?

I'm an International Baccalaureate student; we don't really get GPA's - or at least in my school we don't anyway.
In each class you get a mark, with 7 being the highest, and the marks are added up. We take 6 courses, and there are 3 bonus marks so 45 is the maximum score. (Sorry if you already know the IB system and I'm just explaining things you already know)

I guess my unweighted GPA would be 4.0, but like I said, I would be applying with my predicted IB marks, not my GPA

Oh, okay, I get it. I had no idea how IB worked, thanks.

Which College at Cornell are you applying to?

Anyhow, I'd say you have a good chance, better if you bring your SAT I up.

Thanks, I'm applying to College of Arts and Science

I would like to retake them but I don't really have time to study for it = (
last time I only had a week to prep

how do you know your predicted already? I thought it came out january...

anyway, I know a person that got in with 39predict with 2280 SAT and a 42 predict with 2200 SAT.

why don't you just take the SATs again? the math score is... very low.

holy **** that's an amazing IB predict

good job

retake the math, SAT math is easily the most important of the three to almost every college in the US

Your only weak link, really, is your math. Statistically, the majority of accepted students score a 700 or higher in math.

I think you have excellent shot if you improve your math. It's actually relatively easy to improve math. And by the way your IB predicted grade is amazing.

I think you really deserve a spot at Cornell. You don't seem like a minority of Cornell students who are cocky and snobbish because they have good grades or have good jobs. I hope you do well on your SAT IIs. Good luck!!

BTW are you from Vancouver ^^?

I got my predicted marks early because I'm applying to UK universities as well and the application deadline is oct. 15 (!!!)
So i'm trying to get all my application stuff together, keep my teachers happy so my predicted mark stays high, and prep for SAT II's. I dont think I'll have the time to study for the SAT to take it in time so that the results come back before application deadlines. I'm hoping that if I do well in the math subject test it will show that I can actually do math. I don't why i did so badly in the math section.

awww, thanks people

and yes I'm from Vancouver
