I recently took a practice LSAT for the first time. I scored a 148. Not exactly great.

With good preparation would mid 160s be out of reach?
Are Kaplan courses worth the time and money?

And if I plan on taking it June 2011, should I start studying now?

Any answers are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

first off, i heard kaplan is not very good.

the best prep courses are testmasters, powerscore and blueprint; all give fairly similar tactics and all are regarded highly.

as for studying, you have a lot of time to study; maybe if you want to study a little you can, but i would wait until a few months away from the test date for DEDICATED study.

i’m planning on taking it in october of 2010 and i’m spending about 1-2 hours on the weekend for preliminary studying (check out the powerscore bibles for good lsat material) before i study everyday (while taking the blueprint course) for the entire summer.
