We carefully consider every student who applies to LSU. We seek to attract academically gifted students, as well as students who show promise and potential for college success."
@Mkaylaj I went to an admitted student event last night with my daughter. LSU said as of yesterday they have received over 28,000 applications. So far of that 28,000 they have already granted acceptance to 20,000 students. They plan to fill the class of 2024 with 6,430 students.
Has anyone heard anything about applicants being rejected? Or are they releasing those last? They’ve pretty much accepted 95% of their typical acceptance number. I’m starting to lose hope on getting in seeing as I applied in December.
I have heard nothing back yet it’s becoming very discouraging. Loyola NOLA was my number 2 selection for college so it looks as if I will be soon admitting there. All depends though. My bet is LSU will definitely have answers out by the end of March. There’s a TON of people still waiting we will see…
Good luck ya’ll! Remember, if you don’t make it in, there is always the potential to transfer. Most students aren’t accepted into their major college until they take their prerequisites, so you’ll still have the benefit of taking courses in your major. I have my fingers crossed that ya’ll get accepted. But, if it isn’t in the stars right now, don’t forget that transferring can be an option too. No matter what, be proud of yourselves for graduating high school and know that regardless of what school you end up at, you can still achieve your goals and be a highly successful and happy person!
@2020Mommy I was kind of shocked at the 30K in loans my kid was offered. The only need based aid she was offered at every other school she applied to was $5500 in PLUS loans. I have my fingers and toes crossed that an Honors College scholarship keeps LSU as a main contender for my girl. She called yesterday and was told the Ogden scholarships would start coming out soon.
I have a question regarding any of y’alls honors acceptances. I applied in August, and was accepted in October, and was awarded the legacy scholarship and their version of the OOS waiver scholarship, I think it’s called Tiger Excellence (?). Anyways, I have yet to be accepted into the Ogden honors college, but I am 90% sure I should be accepted (1400 sat, 780 reading, 4.0/4.38w). I’m just curious as to when y’all were accepted to the honors college and how long was it after your initial acceptance? I’ve already emailed the honors admissions about a month and a half ago and they said my application was received but no decision had been made yet. I’m worried that I’m missing out on scholarship opportunities and since LSU is my top choice, the last thing I need before I submit my enrollment deposit is this acceptance.
Hey anyone who is still waiting I got off the phone with admission earlier today. I was told my application is in the “second league” and I will receive a decision very shortly. Also he said they still have a lot of people to accept and they are STILL looking over most applications. I am still confident but we will see…
My D got into Syracuse (which we thought was a reach). While D loved LSU (and we have a special place in our heart for LSU and the New Orleans Saints) we think Syracuse has a better sports management program.
We notified LSU that she won’t be attending. Hopefully it opens a spot for those still waiting.
