my friend (kinda) got into here with a 2.2 weighted gpa and a 16 on the act.....was that luck?

more like a mistake, or that she is filling a quota

kinda got in...?
were they an instate minority?

I agree with you Jrbrown2008.
Virtually impossible to get in unless the student is there as a minority or with any type of athletic scholarship

no i meant she is kinda my friend, not kinda got in.... And she is white, middle class, and not a first generation, and out of state.

she must be from a state never represented by the school then

shes from ohio...... Dude i'm totally with you guys here i was stunned that she got into here and earlham. Supposedly they looked over her bad grades and scores cuz she has a learning disability, but that still doesnt make ne sense why they would let her in.

Agree esmitty 01
I feel there is a lack of fairness to all the other students who break their back to get into a decent school.
It almast feels like a slap in the face, like it matters more where you are from, than all the work you did in school. Sad

On a different note....I'm thinking of sending an application here (i'm a little more qualified than my friend with a 3.8 and a 1350/1990) can i still send one or has the date already passed?

Why would colleges accept people with learning disabilities? Like if you had one and still managed to get good grades, then it would be one thing (overcoming adversity?). But having a learning disability and not working for grades, she is a huge slacker, and doing bad on the acts, and no extracurriculars. How did she get in here and earlham? That just makes no sense......
Ne way, would i have a decent shot with those stats in my last post?
