Which colleges should I stick on my list if I want to be recruited to row in college (with my stats)?
I see my ACT score going up (1 attempt so far), and my 2k going down quite a bit based off my current numbers for the fall season.
Two of my nephews rowed at Marist.
How much of your college COA do you expect to be paid by a rowing scholarship? (To put it another way, what financial constraints do you have for attending college?)
What is your current GPA?
Are you late in the process for getting your name out to coaches? (I ask because I don’t know anything about the recruiting timetable.)
There is a very good thread about recruiting for rowing in the Specialty College Admissions topics. Do a search and read up. Also there is very good information on Row2K and, believe it or not, r/Rowing (reddit).
But unfortunately, there are really no scholarships for rowing. Rowing programs at D1 schools are highly competitive but there are plenty of D3 schools that need rowers, have great teams and can perhaps provide an admissions ‘bump’ or ‘hook.’ Good luck!
