Lyman Briggs vs. Natural Science

I have already been accepted to MSU and have chosen my housing- I will be living where all of the Lyman Briggs kids are living
I have chosen Neuroscience as a major, but I am conflicted over whether or not I should just join LB or stay in NS. My plan is not necessarily to do premed or go to med school. I think that, at this point at least, I would like to get AT LEAST my Master’s (maybe a PhD), and do some research on things like Alzheimer’s and other diseases that affect the nervous system/brain.

What would some pros and cons be for this?

I’m in Lyman Briggs next year and I’ve heard it helps to get into grad school easier so…

Cons: you are typecasted as a briggs’ student.

Pros: More interaction with professors and a potential tight-knit community that may lead to research and/or grad school references.

Definitely recommend lyman briggs. Its a very strong supportive community that will help you for graduate school admissions

Briggs all the way! I loved my time in Briggs and I met some great professors who were able to write me awesome recommendations down the road.
