What are some of the top M.E.M schools and are they hard to get into without work experience?

Duke
Dartmouth
University of florida

I dont think they require work experience, but the degree is not as "sexy" as an MBA. I was considering Dartmouth's program, but decided on the U-FLORIDA MBA instead.

Will they actually have a significant effect on applying to engineering companies? I.e. will an M.e.m actually serve to put you in a higher position or will you basically be the same as an MS candidate?

As someone who considered and researched both, I came to the conclusion that MEM = MS (I already have an MS in Chemistry). For me, there was no substutute for earning my MBA. As a matter of fact, the third semester into my part time program at U-Florida- having the MBA on my resume helped me land a job with a 38% pay hike for a fortune 500 company. I start in May. Like I said before, I really think that the MEM is a GREAT degree, but getting yout MBA from a school, even one not ranked as high as the MEM school is better. Just my thoughts.
