M10 : Congratulations and Commiserations........

I just wanted to say “well done, (you did it!)” to everyone who heard the news they hoped for today, and “well done, good on you, and I hope you all proud of having tried” to everyone who subjected themselves to the process. I know it stings for some right now, and you are disappointed, but the only difference between yesterday and tomorrow, is that yesterday you had HOPE. Transfer that energy and shiny hope onto things that ARE in your life right now, lick your wounds for a day or two, and then HAVE A TERRIFIC YEAR wherever you end up. This doesn’t define any one of you. Some may have had more luck, or met a particular need for a school, or worked harder, or have been born with more talent, or had more opportunities, but none of that defines YOU!! I am so proud of every one of you whose stories I have followed closely over the past year. I am in awe of the grace with which some of you youngsters have handled disappointment after disappointment - and somewhat gobsmacked by the egregious insensitivity of others too, I might add (not naming names - and you probably don’t know who you are anyway, because you lack that sensitivity, even if you are academically successful!) - and still had the fortitude and kindness to congratulate those more fortunate. You are truly awesome kids! You have all gained from the process, even if you are not going to the school you have hoped - you’ll see. I hope to follow some of your success stories on these boards - and I hope that some of you will meet me here again, same time next year! I think I’d better go, before I start pooping rainbows and unicorns… lol :x

I feel like I might not have been as gracious as could be or as congratulatory as I could have been.
I want to congratulate everyone, and I am truly sorry for those that had a day that didn’t turn out as planned. I’m sorry If I came off as being insensitive (It truly was not my intention). Sometimes you get very excited for yourself, and you get wrapped up in yourself(It took me a little a while to tear off all the ribbon and rip through the paper). I hope everyone who had a less-than satisfactory result will apply again next year(you’ll see me on the forum cheering you on come M10).

I’m impressed, GryffinHunter! Congratulations on all your acceptances!!

Well said, BritMom5!
