M11

@SculptorDad did your daughter get in? Or either way is she done with the HS? My son told me that he was done with my HS. He hasn’t decided between dual enrollment or a public high school.

@laenen, she got in to a jbs as a 9th grader. We will see where else she get in in 12 days. Good luck with your son!

@SculptorDad – what school is JBS? Is that John Burroughs School? Anymore kids in the pipe line or are you going into HS retirement? Some how, I think I got fired. hahaha

JBS = Junior Boarding School

Learn something new. That is like a Fay or Fessenden. That is a great plan to apply to those too.

Some very good JBSs for boys include Cardigan Mountain School and Eaglebrook School.

Thanks @doschicos I think I am going to put my rising 5th grader into the CMS summer school. That looks awesome.

The surgery went great. Another surgical repair so that i can still try to live the dream. It is time to sign off. i have learn alot. i will see u all in 3 years when it is college time

@SculptorDad Why “in 12 days”? Can’t think of the significance of that time off the top of my head

@panpacific, the posting was written 12 days before M10

Aha!

Back on Feb 25, I wrote the following (post #7 above):

If you don’t stay past M10, you’ll miss the inevitable “I got into Exeter and Andover and St. Paul’s and Groton and Deerfield, but don’t know how to choose — help me!” posts!

This morning I logged on to see this post (among other similar ones):

So what do I win?

You win a blank 1040 tax form.

Nothing. You got the schools wrong. Too bad; it was a really big prize.

LOL. Bad Kitty rules!!

Well I stuck around so far but have not found too many posts that I can constructively answer. A one sentence question that shows the OP spent ZERO time looking for an answer will only get a snide response from me. Guess my kids are right, I’m just becoming an cranky old man.

It has been two years since your son unsuccessfully applied to BS and I still lurk. Son is doing well at a public exam school within a school something like this http://www.nshoremag.com/August-2013/Haverhills-Classical-Academy/
When we applied to BS we found CC as one of the few sources of information readily available. There is even less on public exam schools. I still turn to this forum for info on the things he is doing in school as there is some similarity. Also some great parenting perspectives that help bring clarity to both how I and my son react to school issues.
