Any opinions on this one year program? MA in Management at Wake Forest.
Big investment, not an MBA. The cost is $59,000 for 10 months.
No guarantees of ROI, no financial aid package.
Media blitz about a "corporate fellowship" only 8 and they were awarded.
No other scholarship, or grants, or GA or TA are offered.
Is this a new way for B schools to bring in the money with not too much investment on their part?
Will this help me get a job in 10 months?
I have no debts now. I will have to get all loans.
I graduated a year ago and I am still looking for work.

You have a degree now and you don’t have a job, why would the MA make you more marketable?

Without work experience the best way to become more marketable is to acquire more depth in your skills not breadth (which degrees like an MBA give). If you want to go back for a masters at this time do so in something that would strength your core skills or show that you are targeting an industry.

Are you currently in NC area? If so I would suggest something that would target me at Biotech.

I am in Southwest VA.
I was hoping to work first and then go back to school for an advanced degree.
I have applied to federal jobs, EPA office, and other entry level jobs in the environmental field. Nothing yet.

I’ve been thinking about the same program. Wake Forrest is a good school but I don’t know if I could justify spending that kind of money on a MA in Managment. I know UF has one too, If I get an Masters in Management I’ll probably go there instead and pay about 4k in tuition.
